This tutorial is designed for students in any transfer-level composition course to use while developing a thesis statement for an essay.  

SUGGESTIONS FOR USE

The student should read the text of The Thesis Statement and The Active Voice and complete the interactive exercise on The Active Voice.  Then, referring to the text to resolve questions, the student should complete the interactive form: Developing Your Thesis Statement.  The student may then take the printout from the confirmation page to a tutor, instructor, or peer to confirm the results and seek advice on further revision and development.
