(1969-1994)Officer in Charge, Juvenile Diversion Program (1992-1994) Counseled Juvenile Offenders and diverted them to community based programs.Coordinator/Counselor for the Employee Assistance Program (1985-1992) Directly responsible for the counseling of police officers and their families, as well as civilian employees. Developed programs for stress management, alcohol and drug abuse, and family problems. Evaluated officers for police disciplinary actions, police retirement hearings and after critical incident response (shootings, earthquakes, and accidents). Served as a member of the critical incident response debriefing board.Sergeant/Inspector Juvenile Division (1975-1985) In this capacity, investigated child abuse and family sexual violence, served as liaison with Juvenile Court and Family Social Services. Resolved related problems utilizing counseling and referrals. Investigated juvenile delinquency cases and developed the Positive Directions Program for Juveniles (PDPJ). In this program, we counseled juvenile offenders and placed them with agencies that fit their needs. Organized and taught classes at the high school level on Youth and the Law.
