Cultural Anthropology Online Class Anth 105 - Fall 2008

Here is some preliminary information regarding the online Anth 105 classes (course codes #70022, #75762 and #73738).

About the Course
This course will require you to come on the main Palomar campus at San Marcos to take three exams during the semester and an optional final exam.  You will need to bring a photo ID, scantron and a #2 pencil for the exams. Please note that I cannot make any exceptions to this policy of taking exams on campus. You will take the exams at the tutoring center in the library. You will have a choice of at least three different dates (including one evening and one Saturday morning) to come in to take each exam. The course will consist of the following: weekly quizzes (7 questions) that are offered online and timed, weekly discussions on the discussion board, a few one-three page assignments, and a participant-observation paper that requires you to attend one to two cultural activities (minimum 6 pages typed non-research paper). I will explain how to take online quizzes and how to post to a discussion board at the orientation meeting on campus Thursday, August 28 from 6:00-7:00 and 7:00-8:00pm in the library on the first floor in room LL-109.

If you are enrolled and will not attend the orientation meeting, you MUST contact me via e-mail between August 19-26 stating that you are enrolled, are familiar with Blackboard and will not be attending.  When you send your e-mail please state your name and the course number you are enrolled in. **If you are enrolled, and do not attend the orientation meeting and did not e-mail by Tuesday, August 26, you will be dropped so that others can add the class.***
