Department chair experience:
Three years experience as chair of Business Education Department, which
consists of 9 full-time faculty, 6 support staff and approximately, 40
part-time faculty. Responsibilities include but not limited to: providing
leadership for faculty and staff in this diverse department consisting of
several academic and vocational programs; advising and assisting students with
academic questions and concerns; planning, organizing and administering programs,
projects and activities for the department; scheduling classes; managing
enrollment; coordinating and overseeing curriculum development and review;
preparing and administering the department’s budget; supervising and evaluating
assigned personnel; and, maintaining campus and community liaisons.
Faculty leadership experience: Currently serving second (2) consecutive
year on Faculty Senate as Senate Secretary, which includes service on the
Faculty Council and assigned representation on various campus-wide governance
committees. Previously served seven (7)
consecutive years on Faculty Council as Senate President (2), Immediate Past
Senate President (2), Faculty President (2.5), and Faculty Vice-President (.5).
Program
experience: Professional Development Coordinator.
Responsibilities included overseeing faculty contract filing process, annual
program workshop offerings, program budgets, and supervision of staff. Served as chair of the Professional
Development Review Board and co-chair of the district-wide Staff Development
Review Board and North County Hiring Education Alliance (NCHEA) district
representative. Initiated and facilitated
creation of an on-line automated contract filing and workshop registration
process for faculty’s Professional Development contracts, which integrates with
PeopleSoft payroll information.
