R CSIS 147 Project Management

Description

This course provides skills upgrade training in the foundations of project management, with an emphasis on technical projects using the experiences of real-life businesses. Instruction includes: project management processes; project integration; scope; time; cost; quality; human resources; communications; risk; and procurement. The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) will serve as a reference and standard to the project management process. Employment possibilities include: Information Systems Director; Management Information Systems Director/Manager; Information Technology Director/Manager; Technical Services Manager; Director of Data Operations; and Information Technology Systems Director.  Students use equipment which includes: file servers, desktop computers running XP Professional, network interface cards (NIC), Microsoft Project 2003 software, and printers.
