I often use the "progressive revelations" format so that the "patient's"
condition evolves given the scenario.
Students love case studies and they do learn quite a bit too.

I have been using case studies for the past year and have found them to be
very helpful. Students initially resisted (as they usually do to anything
that previous classes were not required to do), but have learned to use

and explain fully what you hope to accomplish and why you are using case
