I'm halfway through one of my Xmas break reading assignments - a book 
called Another Planet by Elinor Burkett.  So far, I give it a high 
recommendation.  A journalist spent a year (1999-2000 or 2000-2001) in a 
Minnesota high school, and has written a documentary of her observations, 
and conversations with students, parents, and teachers.  It might be 
helpful in the never-ending quest to understand the mentality, 
expectations, and educational background of our younger college students.
