RE: ACC Tasks

Wow, this is one impressive document!  I think a hard copy booklet would be the most useful format.  You could take it with you everywhere for the two years preceeding the conference you're hosting.  You could read it each night before you fall asleep.  You could take it with you when you're on vacation.  You could read it when your students are watching a video you've seen 500 times.  It would make great reading material when standing in the security lines at the airport.  It would transport easily to the restroom for those "extra long stays".  It really is complete.  However, it should only be made available to a future conference coordinator, AFTER they have agreed to host an annual conference.  No other members should ever have access to this document--it must be kept strictly confidential, or I'm afraid we won't have any more conferences.  As the only member of this committee, who has not hosted an annual conference, I must say--it sure looks daunting!  You guys are my new heros.  Thanks!  Sandy

Subject: ACC Tasks

Hi Everyone,
Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays - Happy New Year to you all!
I am pleased to welcome to our committee, John Martin - welcome John - glad to have you aboard!
Prior to the holidays, we had some discussion about the tasks of the Annual Conf. coordinator (ACC).  Phil sent me a very detailed document summarizing what we had discussed so far and adding to it.  I didn't pay enough attention at the time to the fact that he only sent it to me.  So here it is - it may take a bit of time to peruse this document, but I would appreciate your feed back. This document contains everything that needs to be addressed when organizing a conference.  I guess what we need to do is determine what format this material should take.  Should it stay as is? Can such a document be in the form of a booklet that you can refer to constantly?  What do you think?
