Ohhhhhhh this is fun......I did see a TV program a long way back (the
80's)showing the same concept with the use of dogs....showing a drop in
mass (the dying dog was lying on a scale) at the "moment of death". I'm
sorry that I don't recall this TV program now. I do use the example when I
teach CV labs and distinguish the difference between clinical and
biological death, trying to illustrate that it would be nearly impossible
to ascertain this elusive "time of death" anyways (biological or brain
death...death of X # of neurons, pupil unresponsiveness, absence of EEG,
???). Well, I guess if we could quantify a mass change, that would be it.
If someone could dig up this study...we'll have solved it!!
