Can anyone recommend a video that shows and explains an
autopsy? I'm teaching an advanced seminar course (for upper
level undergraduate bio majors), intro to pathology, and would like
to have students see a little bit of all things that pathologists do.
I've got plenty of materials on histopathology, could use some
resources for gross pathology, autopsies, forensic path.
I know that I'm a bit late with this information, but sometimes, I just
can't get my act together.
Anyway, a video tape that our county medical examiner's office
requires that I show my students before we visit to view an autopsy
is one that is produced by the Justice Institute of British Columbia
entitled "A Coroner's Autopsy."
Through a little acting at the beginning, it demonstrates what occurs
at a crime scene after which an actual autopsy is shown and
explained. It's fairly well done.
Hope this helps,
