I second this recommendation! I just finished reading
this book (thanks to the HAPSter who mentioned here, I've forgotten your name)
and I enjoyed it very much. There's a chapter on the
plastination process at the Univ. of Michigan as well as info about the "body
farm" and how they use cadavers in car safety research. It is not for the
squeamish (the author compares maggots on a decomposing body to Rice Krispies)
but most of us on this list probably wouldn't describe ourselves as
squeamish.... Definitely a good read.

birthday. The title of the book is STIFF. It's about the history and use of
cadavers. I thought I knew just about everything there was to know about the
history and use of deceased humans. Not so. I'm learning some things I didn't
know before. I believe that most AnP instructors/professors woudl find this book
interesting and
enlightening. I would be happy to provide more
information. E-mail me at jsteele@xxxxxxxxxxxx
