[HAPS-L] Cabs in the Megapome
Traveling from Newark to NYC is easy by monorail and jersey transit. A
bit pricey - but about the same as other cities. I think it is about
eight dollars from Newark airport to Newark airport train station
where you can pick up NJ transit to NYC - that runs about 5 dollars. x
two for round trip. I think by bus to LaGuardia or Kennedy to NYC
midtown is about $26..it has been a few years, don't travel much these
days.
When I was there in 2001, I naively let an airport hack hustle us into a cab for the ride from La Guardia to a hotel across the street from the AMNH, at $50. For the return to LaGuardia, the hotel doorman hailed a city cab for us and that driver charged $25. He said we'd been ripped off. Lesson learned: don't accept rides from hacks standing around the baggage claim area hustling fares. Go out to the cab stand.
