Re: [HAPS-L] Norepi effects on beta receptors

It has been a long time since I looked at some of this, but looking at a basic pharmacology book, It shows that ACh, Histamine, Bradykinin and ATP all stimulate the endothelial cell to release nitric oxide (NO) which is the smooth muscle relaxant (via cGMP pathway to inhibit Ca2+ channel activity) . Beta agonists, via cAMP appear to be removing Ca2+ from the cytosol, alpha receptors constrict (I think they inhibit cAMP by activating the G alpha- i). Also found in some really old notes that ACh stimulates the production of bradykinin as well.
Hope this helps a little.
