[HAPS-L] heart attack

A student said that she had heard the risk of a heart attack was high after a person exercises strenuously and then suddenly stops and rests or sits down (apparently without a cool down period). Something about the sudden switch from exercise to resting conditions would provoke an MI. I can't think of why, anybody out there know if this is myth or truth, and why?

Thanks!

Dr. Kay: Go to ABC's website: http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/ and look at the video from almost anywhere in the universe. The area to the middle right of your screen will show "Broadcast plus" and the body parts section is currently on the top line of that section.

Enjoy!

I'm not sure my satellite receiver will pick this programme up in the UK! However, related
to this discussion, within the last few months we have had televised autopsies and before
that televised dissections. The dissections can be viewed at

Subject: Anatomical Donations Issues - ABC Mar. 9 @ 10 pm

Those of you involved or interested in the current issues relative to anatomical gift / body donation programs at your institutions might want to watch tomorrow night's (Thurs, 3/9) ABC PrimeTime show. Much of the show will be devoted to covering the recent body segments stories out of California and Texas as well as the more recent stolen tissue case here in New Jersey and New York. I was told they will also be covering the body segments trade - as it relates to the resort hotel surgical training courses that I know most of us find so abhorrent and contrary to reasonable environmental standards for anatomical education. The show airs at 10:00 pm EST. Annie Cheney is a featured guest on the program along with the Brooklyn District Attorney. Annie's book, "Body Brokers", based on over three years of research on this subject was published yesterday. See you in San Francisco. Todd
