Of course there is evidence to support a negative cardiac event (angina, MI) following exercise in individuals with other cardiovascular risk factors. That said, the increase in SNS activity with exercise may induce ventricular fibrillation and eventual asystole. The oxygen demands of strenuous exercise in an untrained individual could also alter coronary blood flow, wall stress, HR and contractility leading to adverse cardiac events. Combine exercise with age (cardiac risk factor) in health individual may lead to negative cardiac event through increased arterial stiffness and decreased endothelial function via lower NO, prostacyclin, and endothelium-derived hyperpolarizing factors.

I'm not sure my satellite receiver will pick this programme up in the UK! However, related to this discussion, within the last few months we have had televised autopsies and before
