Just about all of them are also well aware of what
"amnesia" means, and most know what the prefix a- means, which
should help with remembering the "mn" of mnemonic. How to get
them to leave the "u" out is another question. I saw a web site
for nursing students today where people were calling them
"mneumonics." It's but a short step down the slippery slope
from there to "pneumonics."

But you already pneu that, right?
