Reportedly there are several issues facing Massachusetts Bay
Community College (in Wellesley, MA) right now and they seem to be impacting
the RN program. One of these concerns is that the provost, Steve
Berrien, allegedly changed a student’s grade but the provost
claims he only allowed a re-test and did not tamper with the grade. Apparently
some faculty feel that there have been other grade changes in order to keep the
number of nursing students up. Whatever the truth, the Board of Registration in
Nursing (a part of the Mass. Dept. of Public Health) has taken the various
matters seriously and has ordered the college to stop accepting new applications
