RE: [HAPS-L] evolution wars

One would think that, with the huge problem of lack of education that we have in the US, that the focus of education should be on teaching MORE, not taking things out of the curriculum.

Next they’ll stop teaching arithmetic because you can’t actually prove that 2+2 = 4.

Imagine if someone argues that yellow is not yellow.  This is only a belief and consensus among people.  If we change the color “yellow” to say “canary” in all teachings and writings, it will become canary.  Unless some people don’t believe the change, for them yellow will stay yellow.

So for those who believe in yellow, yellow will live.  Next thing you know, we’ll be memorizing wavelengths.

Teach just evolution, and creation science will live.  Teach just creation science, and evolution will live.  So why not teach both and let well informed individuals decide.

Unfortunately in the US, the rather ill-educated majority votes in the ill-educated to run the country.  It’s like I told my wife a few weeks ago, “I am tired of stupid decisions being made because they favor the majority, while good ideas are pushed aside because it is too difficult to explain them to 80% of the population”.

You are right David, I think that did get me going a little.

Texas is being hit with another evolution war—hasn’t anyone ever hear of the misfortunes of the Dover, PA school district. This comes at the behest of a Georgia state legislator and you can read the Dallas News article yourself but be careful, the article is inflammatory on a lot of levels!

Don’t blame me—you were warned…
