Good Evening, Hapsters.
I'm reviewing some lecture notes for Monday over the autonomic NS and had a question that I could not seem to find the answer to, and I suspect the some students will probably ask the same one (and maybe this is a silly question that I should already know):
Why are the postganglionic nerve fibers in the autonomic NS unmyelinated? Is this some type of evolutionary adaptation? Is this so that the signals don't get to the organs too quickly?
I appreciate your time and insights.
Regards,
Darren
