The Department of Life Sciences, Division of Biomedical Sciences, of Texas
A&M University-Corpus Christi, invites applications for a tenure-track
position at the assistant professor level in neurobiology with a starting
date of September 2007, pending available funding.
We are seeking candidates with a strong neuroscience research program
using molecular techniques, preferably using marine organisms as models
or focusing on the neurophysiology or neurogenomics of marine organisms.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous
externally-funded research program supporting our MS and PhD graduate
programs and our undergraduate research initiative. The College of
Science and Technology currently offers a doctoral program in Coastal
and Marine System Science and is developing a joint PhD program in
Marine Biology with Texas A&M University - College Station and Texas A&M
University - Galveston proposed for the 2007-2008 academic year.
Teaching responsibilities will include neurobiology, pathophysiology and
related courses.
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is a doctoral Hispanic Serving
Institution located along the Gulf of Mexico on an island overlooking
Corpus Christi Bay. With over 8,600 students, the university offers a
wide array of academic programs with 18% of the students enrolled in
graduate programs.
