To all,
I thought it was worth noting the passing of one of the great comparative physiologists, Knut Schmidt-Nielsen. Much of his work focused on the adaptations of desert animals to their environment. If you have ever lectured on kangaroo rats or camels you probably owe something to KSN. His life is chronicled in his memoirs,
The Camel's Nose: Memoirs of a Curious Scientist.
