Re: [HAPS-L] A special course on Contributions of Well-known scientists (biologists, physiologists, etc)

Rema,

An important book I recently came across is a revisionist (in a positive sense) history of science called "A People's History of Science" by CLifford Conner. One of the book's central tenets argues against the "lone genius" portrayal of European men like Vesalius, or Descartes - instead linking them to historical events and trends within the larger population(s) around them that helped to put them where they became famous for "their" discoveries.

An intriguing and compelling read - I'd highly recommend it.
