RE: [HAPS-L] OSHA requirements
Our culinary department has these for their classes since this is a very
common injury in their field.

As to closed-toe shoes: don't forget that they will also protect you
from the smaller species of rattlesnakes!

Just to jump overboard with these safety rules....
Does anyone wear a chain mail type glove when dissecting? The most
common injury we have during dissection is not splashing but cutting
themselves with the scalpel or poking themselves with a needle probe.
Seems we should be dressed in armor "just in case".
I do think some take these safety rules to the nth degree and forget to
use the most efficient of rules.... common sense.
One other thing... I'm not sure of the logic behind close toed shoes
either. Unless they are steel toed, dropping something on a close toed
shoe isn't going to protect any better than on an open toed shoe.
