Henry Gray (1827-1861)
English physician, surgeon, and anatomy lecturer
In 1858, while working at St. George's Hospital in London, he published the first edition of "Gray's Anatomy"; he was only 31 at the time. Three years later, while caring for a nephew who had smallpox, Gray himself contracted the disease and died.
