You will be awed by the sight of magnificent large mammals like elk and bison. Keep in mind that less conspicuous rodents like mice, gophers, squirrels and marmots far outnumber the larger animals in the GYE.
Fees
A fee of $720 is required for this course. This fee covers accommodations (cabins), canoe and raft rentals, a float trip, one meal and some expenses of instruction. A minimum deposit of $350 will reserve a place for you. Final payments are due by July 1, 2006 Fees will only be refunded after July 1 if your place can be filled by another student. Additionally, all participants must enroll in the appropriate Palomar College class and pay the enrollment fee upon registration.
Other Expenses
In your planning be sure to calculate costs of transportation to and from the class site as well as costs for fuel while traveling about the park. Some of these costs can be reduced by carpooling. Additionally you will need to provide your own meals and snacks. Park stores provide an opportunity to obtain limited groceries, souvenirs, film etc. Prices are necessarily higher than might be available at home. The nearest town from Lake Yellowstone is a two hour drive.
