| Exam III |
Check-in + Turn in titration lab |
| Make sure that you read each experiment to be performed BEFORE
coming to the laboratory. This will greatly improve your efficiency, understanding, and
success of the experiment. It is advisable to bring a small container of dish soap and a
roll of paper towels to be kept in your locker as the laboratory cannot supply these
items.
All experimental reports are due at the beginning of
the period one week after the final day of that experiment's completion in
the laboratory. Lab reports may be turned in late up to one period with a 50% reduction in
points. After one late period, no lab reports will be accepted. ALSO, NO MAKE-UP
EXPERIMENTS WILL BE ALLOWED. There is plenty of time to complete each experiment
within the allowed time. If three physical absences occur you will be dropped/failed.
In addition to your data sheets, a short purpose (in your own words)
and discussion/conclusion section will be offered. The discussion/conclusion section
should be based upon the data and observations obtained in the experiment. Allow these
data and observations to lead you to a logical conclusion. Also, discuss possible sources
of error that may be inherent in the experimental procedure. Always write in the third
person, singular, impersonal form. Avoid lengthy discussions when a brief, to-the-point
approach will work. Always be cognizant of your grammar!
Of the 3 exams that you will take, your lowest score will be dropped.
If you miss an exam, the zero recorded for that exam will be the score that is dropped.
Therefore, no make-up exams will be given. Your grade will then be based upon the
following breakdown: |
Exams:
50% Experiments: 30% Subjective*:
20%
100%
|
Once your % grade has been determined, any glass or equipment
breakage will then be subtracted from this total based on the formula of
0.1%/$1.00.
| Scores will be subjected to a standard curve and grades will then be determined. |
|
| *Subjective is
based upon your performance in the following categories: |
| Attendance Originality Independence Technique
Laboratory attitude |
