This was Staff Development Day at Palomar and I had an opportunity to play my new Fender Power Tele as one of the members of the "Unclassifieds". What you can't tell from the picture is that, because of rigorus rehearsal for this gig, I was suffering laryngitits. The eyes-closed look of pain wasn't from "gettin' in to the blues" it was from "get me out of this song"!

Well, here I am at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. I took time out from my busy schedule to jam with a local steel drum band. I believe we were playing "Rocky Top", a cowboy polka favorite. Some of you may recognize the person to the right of me in the picture as Bobby Benegas. Bobby is half of the signing group "Sidekicks"from Barona Casino. The other half of the group (Kathy Hyatt) was taking the picture. The truth of the matter is . I was trying to steal a photo opportunity by standing next to the drum that it "appears" that I am playing. The gentleman next to me saw what I was trying to do and motioned me over. As you can see, I was havin' a big ole time! Notice the bass guitarist at the opposite side crackin' up. These guys were really nice. I could not thank them enough.
