Principles of Macroeconomics 

 

 

TEXT: Macroeconomics 19th edition by C. McConnell, S. Brue and S. Flynn. ConnectPlus software is also required.

TEACHING METHOD: Each week you will read the assigned textbook chapters listed below, then go to ConnectPlus and complete the work for the week.  You will also need to complete the in-class homework. Interaction with other students enrolled and with me will be a major source of information for all of us. 

 OBJECTIVES: Introduction to basic economics theory with an emphasis on how Economics affects our daily lives and preparation for upper division courses.

Successful Students:

Will be able to: (1) assess the impact of current events using market analysis, (2) explain how market based economies evolve, (3) explain the role of competition and the role of the government in market based economies, and (4) offer various policy options to alter the state of the economy. These items represent a partial list of Student Learning Outcomes.
