Certificate Policy

Departmental certificates (signed by the department chair, the program coordinator, and the classroom teacher) are awarded to your best students on the last day of school. To make such certificates very special, each class is limited to 6 certificates or 30% of those still in attedance, whichever is less. Thus, if you have 19 and more students, you can request up to 6 certificates; if you have between 15 and 18 students, you can have up to 5 certificates; with 12 to 14 students, you will have up to 4 certificates; with 9 to 11 students, you will have up to 3 certificates, and so on and so forth.

In terms of award categories, you can use the standard wording of "Perfect Attendance," "Most Improved," "Best Effort," and "Outstanding Achievement." Or you can have your own wording. Your list of recipients and reasons for the awards is due one week before the last day of school.
