What do you need to know about the site and exterior of the building?
Is the site close to the community you want to serve
Is is easily accessible
Is the traffic heavy or light
Can cars get in and out of the parking lot
Is there bicycle access
Are there sidewalks for pedestrians
Is public transportation available
Is it centrally located for all segments who will use the library
Is the site size adequate for the facility planned
Is there room for expansion
Does it have correct zoning
Is the site improved for gutters, curbs, water, sewer
Is the cost prohibitive
Exterior
Is it visually appealing
Are there public telephones available
Is the entrance sheltered from the weather and well lit
Is the bookdrop separate from the building or fireproofed
Is there a delivery entrance, can trucks unload easily
Is there a single secure entrance
Is there place for trash
Can the landscape be easily maintained
Are the walks well lit
Are there curb cut outs for wheel chairs
Can the sunlight glare be controlled
