Periodicals which include magazines, journals, and newspapers are a wonderful source of information.  They can provide information about current events, people or ideas.  There are thousands of magazines published every year.  New ones are published all the time.  Each magazine contains many articles.  You need a tool to find just the article you need in just the right magazine.  One of the tools to find magazine articles is called an index.
