The Interview Process
1. Before the Interview:
Become informed about the library, school, organization, or business.
Practice talking about yourself out loud. Then, when you face the selection committee and nerves attack, something coherent will still flow from your mouth.
Dress professionally.
Arrive on time (early, but not too early!).
Be cordial to receptionist or any persons whom you meet prior to meeting the interview committee.
2. During the Interview:
Tell the committee everything that you want them to consider. A fatal error is to assume that the committee knows something about your experience from reading your application materials. Perhaps someone on the committee didn't see the materials or doesn't recall specifically about you as they may be interviewing many candidates for the position.
