My online courses utilize the Blackboard Course Management System
(Bb) in additional to information posted on
my
Palomar College web site. |
 |
- Student Blackboard Accounts
All registered students will have individual accounts
with access to their course Bb site, and this site will be an
integral part of the course. Students must also complete
all registration procedures and pay all
necessary fees before they can access their
Blackboard account.
- All written
and PowerPoint assignments for the course must
be submitted through the Blackboard system.
- Access to
Blackboard course sites at Palomar College is
available the Friday before the start of each
term.

- Student

click here to access the online version

student ID number as Username and the Password for your Palomar
eServices account.
- If you have forgotten your
username and/or password,
they be reset.
|
- Internet
Access and Student Email Accounts All
students registered in my online courses require
reliable Internet access – preferably with
broadband speed
–
and must have an
Email address for communication with their
professor. However:
- It is not
necessary to have home internet access to
take an online course, if the student is
willing to use facilities such as the
Palomar College
Academic Technology Computer Lab
or other computer labs at Palomar College
or another institution to
access their course Blackboard site.
-
If you
do not have home computer access, it is
strongly recommended that you find a
reliable site with Broadband Internet access
that is open when you will want to access
your course Blackboard site.
- Free Email
accounts can be obtained from
Yahoo! Mail or
Google Mail and other providers of
free Internet services
listed here at the Palomar College
Academic Technology Computer Lab site.

- Attention
AOL Users!
America Online
users may not be able access Blackboard properly
using the browser supplied with AOL. To access
Blackboard, AOL users must download a standard
(or stand-alone) version of Microsoft Internet
Explorer. (AOL sometimes refers to browsers
other than their own as "external browsers.")
- Follow
these procedures to access Blackboard:
-
Download version 7.0 of Internet
Explorer.
Click here to begin the download.
-
Install the downloaded browser software
on your computer. (Installation
instructions are provided Microsoft's
download sites.)
- After
you've installed your new browser
successfully, restart your computer.
- Sign
on to AOL as you normally do, but stay
at the AOL Main (Welcome) page.
- Keep
AOL running in the background and start
your new stand-alone browser. The
stand-alone browser will use your AOL
Internet connection.
-
Note: If you have problems getting
your new browser to work with AOL, check
out the Member Services area of AOL.
Click on "Internet and World Wide Web."
Double-click "Using other browsers with
AOL." For further information.
- MSN Users
While Blackboard will function within MSN
Explorer, it is also recommended that you use a
stand-alone version of Internet Explorer 6.0
after you sign on to MSN.

- Pop-up
