NGC 3242 - "Ghost of Jupiter" nebula

  NGC 3242 (nicknamed the "Ghost of Jupiter Nebula") is a planetary nebula found in Hydra.  It is the remnant of a star like the sun that finished its life-cycle by ejecting its outer layers leaving behind a stellar remnant called a white dwarf.  It is located 1400 light years from Earth.
