One of the easiest targets for beginner
astrophotographers (like me!) is the Orion Nebula. The thrill of
seeing this amazing nebula in the viewfinder of the camera is pretty
cool. This is 112 images of 30-seconds each that were stacked
using DeepSkyStacker (free!). At the time I took these images I
had not yet purchased the remote shutter cable that allows me to image
longer than the maximum of 30-seconds allowed by the camera. The
image is a mosaic of an upper half and lower half to be able to get the
entire nebula in the image (56 images each half). Some teasing of
the colors and details were done with Photoshop Elements.
