NGC 4565
(click on the image for a larger version)		The galaxy NGC 4565 is one of the best examples of a spiral galaxy that is seen nearly edge on.  The obvious dust lane that crosses in front of the galactic nucleus is easily seen in medium to large aperture telescopes. -  ISO 800 -  F3.8 -  8 minutes exposures (x 3) + 10 minute exposure (x 1); 34 minutes total -  Unfiltered -  Direct images through the 5" Wright Newtonian Astrograph -  Piggyback on the C-14 -  Manually guided -  Location: TDS 02.28.2009
