That Uppity Theatre
Company produced “Peace Out! An Artistic Resistance to War,”
one of the largest arts collaborations in the history of St. Louis, in October
at the Center for Creative Arts (COCA).
Joan Lipkin, Artistic Director of That Uppity Theatre
Company, and local poet, Deborah Stoddard, conceived of “Peace Out,”
as an opportunity for both artists and the general public to process the
concepts of peace and war through participation in various activities and
experiences.

Review of Echo Theatre’s
Production Dreaming America: In the Bunker with George

A fresh wind of progressive thought is blowing
out of the heart of “Bush Country.” Dreaming America: In the
Bunker with George, an ensemble performance developed by Rhonda Blair, Jerrika
Hinton, and Terri Ferguson of Echo Theatre, was performed on the eve of
the presidential election in a small, intimate space. Dreaming America acted
as a wake up call for those who have struggled to become more conscious
of the ways in which living under the duplicitous, neo-conservative regime
of the Bush administration has affected our country.
