Oceanography of the Southern California Bight

Visit area beaches, lagoons, and coastal sites to explore coastal ecosystems and geological and oceanographic processes of the Southern California Bight.   Course includes a boat trip to East Anacapa Island (Channel Islands National Park) The course will also focus on human interactions in the coastal environment.  This 4-day, 3-night trip begins in La Jolla and ends near Point Conception.  Students provide their own transportation (carpooling required).  A fee of $58 will be collected to cover the transportation cost to East Anacapa Island.

  •  May be taken as OCN 195, ES 195 or GEOG 195 for 1 unit of credit.
