BEST TV NEWS JOURNALISTS
At The 2005 Journalism Association of Community Colleges conference
Palomar College RTV Students took First, Second and Forth place in the
state- Category- TV News.
Peter Stoll won first place with his well balanced look at Americas
fascination with the game of Paintball
Roger Renkas won 2nd place for his spot reporting of the new Vietnam and
Iraq War memorial erected at Palomar College in Fall 2004.
Brad Gardner won 4th place for his in depth look inside the Father Benos
Homeless kitchen in Oceanside, Ca.
Congratulations to all three champions of professional Television News
Journalism
A special congratulations to photojournalist Christin Fisher and Jin Tang
who without their photojournalism skills these stories could not have been
told.
Each of these students were members or the RTV 240 TV News class which
produces the weekly half-hour newscast Primetime Palomar which is cablecast
to over 275,000 homes on Cox and Adelphia cable in North San Diego County.
