SAN MARCOS (Sept 22,2004) Prime Time Palomar, a weekly Palomar College RTV Program student produced half-hour TV news program, will launch it's third season on Saturday October 9, 2004.  In cooperation with the Palomar E.T.V. department, the show will be broadcast each Saturday at 5 pm on Cox ch 16 and Adelphia ch 67.  It is estimated the show will reach over 250,000 homes in North County.

The emphasis of Prime Time Palomar is News...College Students Can Use. The first show will cover the following stories:

1.    Cyber sex, is it cheating?

2.    Need a new car, pros and cons of leasing vs. buying

3.    New student E mail.

4.    Student activity card, what do you get for it.

5.    The jukebox in the student union, should it stay or go?

6.    Can loud base sounds from car stereos and boom boxes cause lung cancer?

7.    One Students Opinion:  Celebrities and the war in Iraq

8.    Stress free places to relax on campus

9.    Removal of the Hubble Arc and what that means for students

10.  Entertainment: Latest Palomar Performing Arts events plus community local bands.

11.   New photo ticket light near the campus

12.    Abusive relationships, world renowned experts give their advice

13.    What's going on with DVD Burners, which are the best.

14.    Sports: All the latest Palomar sports news

 

Each week Palomar RTV 240 students bring north county college students news they can actually use. No death and destruction just solid factual stories that the viewers actually benefit from.

The  RTV 240 TV News students learn a variety of roles in the TV News business. They are producers, anchors, reporters, writers, photojournalist, directors, audio technicians, floor directors etc.

The students learn the Radio TV News Directors Code of Ethics which prepares students to contribute to their societies and become  critical thinkers
