To gain knowledge in editing a TV News Story

To increase your understanding and use of split edits.

To gain practice and knowledge in producing a video package.

To increase your skills on Final Cut Pro software.

Resolve audio problems.

Increase knowledge of the use of CG text using FCP.

Increase ability to choose appropriate video footage.

Increase ability to export FCP Project to video.

Assignment Description: This exercise is a TV News story , which has already been written and shot. It consists of interview footage , a voice narration track, and cut-away b-roll footage. The material footage is on the disc provided to you. It is also located on the computers in the U building.

Your job is to produce this package following the provided script, which is located in the edit suite and on-line. Use the available cut-away footage at your discretion. Remember Say Dog See Dog. You must also use lower 3^rd text to identify each person seen in the video. Be creative on this.

You must convert original footage to High Res for Broadcast-This footage is availble in the U building. You must follow the script exactly as it is written. No variations

You must turn in a playable DVD ready to be shown in class on a standard 4-3 TV set along with your lab assignment sheet.
