Chi-Square

I. Frequency observed (f_o)---The number in each cell

II. Frequency expected (f_e)---The expected number for each cell

III. X² formula---Compute one term for each cell and add them

IV. df = (number of rows -1) · (number of columns - 1)

V. Significance---Find critical value in Table X

A. If the computed X² is ³ the critical value then reject H_o

B. If the computed X² is < the critical value then fail to reject H_o
