Hi my name is Bill O'Connor and I live in San Clemente, CA. I have been teaching economics since 1987, and I have a Master of Science Degree, in economics, from Cal Poly Pomona. I grew up in Orange County and I'm 57 years old so I have seen a lot of changes in California. My interests, other than economics, are art, surfing, swimming, history, and traveling. I had not traveled anywhere in 35 years except in California, Oregon, Washington and Mexico. Then I took a trip 3 years ago to see my niece get married outside London. On this trip I went to Ireland, Scotland and Britain. I caught the travel bug and a few months later, over the Christmas break, I went to Italy and Sicily. Then the following June I decided to revisit Vietnam. I had been there in 1968, during the Vietnam War. This time I was on vacation and I also went to Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. I liked it so much I went back to Thailand and Cambodia last Christmas. During summer I went to New York, Baltimore and Washington D.C. By the time you read this I will have gone back to Southeast Asia this Christmas. I am going to Northern Thailand and cross over into Northern Laos. Then three days on the Mekong River and a couple of short plane trips, and stops along the way, I'll cross the border over into Cambodia. Further down the Mekong I'll spend New Year's Eve in the capitol, Phnom Penh. Then down south to the Gulf of Thailand along the Cambodian and Thai coastline and back to Bangkok.
